LAKE MANYARA CANOEING (4 hours
Experience Lake Mayara National Park's incredible wildlife and scenery from a new perspective - the canoe! Price includes - game drive from the National Park Gate to the canoeing site, guided two and a half hour canoeing safari, drinks and snacks during the safari, Lake Manyara Canoeing safari T-shirt and certificate.
A 13-foot (4m) two-seat fiberglass Canadian style canoe will be used. All canoeing guests will be met at the National Park gate where drivers will pay all park and canoeing fees. They will then be driven in an open 4x4 vehicle for a game drive on the way to the canoeing launch site. Guests will be introduced to their trained canoe guides and assigned to the canoes which they will paddle themselve (two guests per canoe), following a guide who will direct them.Once on the lake, guests will have the opportunity to see the large wildlife population of Manyara that spends most of its time during the day on the lakeshore or under the canopy of Acacia Tortilis by the lake. Canoes are quieter and allow guests to get much closer to the game than otherwise possible and from the safety of the water. Herds of giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, elephants, including lions may be spotted. Manyara’s spectacular birdlife will also be easier to see and the qualified canoeing guide will interpret all aspects of plant and animal life that is seen from the canoes. The total canoeing time will be approximately 2 ½ hours and at the end of the safari guests will be met by our vehicles for a refreshing drink stop with fresh hand towels and chilled fresh fruit slices. Guests may also wish to try some of the special Lake Manyara iced cocktails that will be freshly prepared on the lakeshore. After refreshments guests will depart in the open game drive vehicles back to the park gate. The total safari will be approximately 4 hours and promises to be a unique and highly exciting experience. LAKE MANYARA MOUNTAIN BIKING SAFARI [A] (4 hours)
Begin the journey from Serena Manayara Lodge on the Trek front suspension bike and descend the Rift Valley escarpment, stopping along the way for pictures of the lake, wildlife and plants. The ride takes you through the farming areas Of Mto Wa Mbu and here children take great delight in seeing you. One may even visit the local nursery school. Form here the trek leads to the green flood plains of Lake Manayara. We meet our vehicle, have a drink and snacks and watch the fabulous sunset over the lake. Water packs, gloves, helmets, a drink/snacks and transport back to the lodge are all included.
MTO WA MBU VILLAGE EXPERIENCE (3 hours)
Experience the Tanzanian village life. Starting from Serena lodge, our guide will lead you through the farming community of Mto Wa Mbu and show you the small holder farms where up to 30 types of bananas are grown. You will be able to interact with the local community and visit their homes and the local kindergarten if in session. Water packs, transport are included.
ZANZIBAR
Evening Guided Walk - Stone Town - 2hrs
This two hours guided walk includes return transfers from hotel to hotel and takes you to a leisure walk through the narrow streets of the Stone Town where you mingle with almost every eastern race in their diverse attire attending to the many small and exotic bazaars. Sunset is to be found at its best on the balcony of Africa House - formerly The English Club. Calling of the prayers (maudlin) is around 18h30 where more than 50 Mosques which are unpretentious by comparison with minaret and domed places of worship in other Muslim countries blare through the loudspeakers. Historical City tour (Stone Town)

Jozani Forest ½-Day
Zanzibar offers you the only place in the World where you can see the endemic rare species of Red Colobus monkey. These unique monkeys never ever eat fruit nor drink water and yet live on the leaves of their beautiful forest habitat. The Jozani Forest is a protected conservation area so no predator can harm them. We also see the variety of trees including many kinds of palm, and the mighty Red mahogany trees. Other wildlife we may see includes bush babies, elephant shrew, red and gray squirrels, and numerous birds. We also visit the mangrove board walk where three types of Mangrove can be seen. Prison Island ½-Day
Half day relaxing tour sailing in one of our traditional Swahili dhows in Zanzibar Channel of the Indian Ocean; visiting the ruins of the Slave Prison in the small Isle off the Western Coast of Zanzibar. This historical Island was formerly owned by an Arab and used for the confinement of refractory slaves. It was bought by General Mathews and the jail (gaol) which still stands was built in 1893 and hence the name "Prison Island". The coral reefs’ in the crystal clear waters surrounding the Island offers an ideal opportunity for snorkeling. While on the island you will see Giant tortoise. North Coast & Slave caves
This trip leads you through the Mangapwani caves which is approx. 35mins drive from Zanzibar town. Up-to 1911 caves that had been secret hideout from which the slaves were illegally let out to the sea through a secret passage & then transported by dhow after the official closure of the slave market in June 1873. It was an important transit point for the captured slaves to be sold to the outside world. The tour then proceeds to Nungwi North of Zanzibar which is approx 1 hour drive from the caves. Nungwi & Kendwa has got the best crystal clear water, an excellent place for snorkeling, diving, sunbathing & swimming. You will also get a chance to visit the natural turtle aquarium. In this tour we will also take you through different local villagers who build dhows & boats using traditional tools. I t is not surprising that the food of the “Spice Island” offers an exotic varieties of aromas & tastes. For centuries, the Indian Ocean sailing ships brought people from Arabia, Persia, India & the African continent to Zanzibar & this colorful mix of cultures is so clearly evident in their cuisine. From women groups of Stone town, you can now learn how to prepare traditional Zanzibari food: Arabian coffee, Indian curries, Masalas from Goa, Exotic fruits, Vegetables & Spices such as Manioc, Cashew Nut, Nugmet, Cinnamon & Coconut are everyday components of Zanzibar cuisines. Zanzibar’s famous rice dishes include Biriyani, Mseto & Wali – but the unrivalled favorite which is only cooked in special occasions, is Pilau-a rice dish meticulously flavored with varieties of spices including cumin, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom & raisins. Kizimkazi Day Trip Tour
Take a one-hour drive from Stone town to Kizimkazi located in Zanzibar south coast for a day of dolphin spotting. Kizimkazi is home to large numbers of bottle-nosed & spinner dolphins, beautiful coral reefs & tropical fish. A short safety briefing will be given upon arrival, informing you about the dos & don’ts when faced with these wild animals. Then board a traditional ocean-going dhow or fiber boat & set sail on the Indian Ocean where you can get as close to 10 meters from the dolphins. On good days, you can watch these sleek & gray creatures as they jack-knife through the water, sometimes showing off with jumps & twists. You will then go on to one of the selected snorkeling locations available for an afternoon snorkeling. Whether you’re fortunate enough to see dolphins or not, you can enjoy 2-3 hrs of sailing.

Dhow Fishing Tour
The Zanzibar fishing water-sports is fortunate in having a superb Zanzibar fishing holidays almost all the year. The excursion is synonymous as some of the most exhilarating & challenging deep-sea is available. When the north east monsoon blows, the bill fish arrives in great numbers. Kijani-Takwa return by boat visit to the ruin. Possibility of a 3 km walk along the shore for bird watching. Distance: 3 hrs. round-trip by sailing dhow, but can only be reached at high tide. The ruined town of Takwa lies across the channel and up a narrow mangrove creek on a Manda Island. It can be approached only by boat and only on a rising tide. You can hear the ocean over the dunes in this lovely place as you wander among fabled baobab trees and the remains of a 16th century Swahili town. Visitors who do not wish to spend the night will have to take a quick (approx. 45 minutes) tour so as not to miss the outgoing tide. Be sure to see the Mosque with a pillar over its fine qibla, and also the pillar tomb. Takwa is a national monument administered by the National Museums of Kenya. Shela
Shela is a fourty-five minute walk south along the beach. Once around the point beyond the village and Kijani House, the dunes and the beach stretch for seven deserted miles. There are interesting ruins at the back of the village, though Shela's most prominent landmark is its Friday Mosque built with a conical shaped minaret in 1829.
Matondoni
This village is about two hours from Lamu whether by foot or by mashua, a small sailing dhow. Sailing time depends on the monsoon and the tide. Matondoni is known for its shipwrights who build the traditional lateen rigged dhows, both the large jahazi and the smaller mashua. Distance: 3 hrs. return by motor boat, 5 or 6 hrs under sail.
Further Afield
Destinations further north entail passage through the shallow Mkanda Channel and must be carefully timed with the tide. The north side of Manda Island together with Manda Toto, a favourite fishing and goggling spot, make a nice day trip. The most important settlement on the island is Lamu historic rival, Pate Town. There are many ruins here but the most spectacular is the fort at Siyu in the middle of the island.

Tenewi Island, Manda Toto, Pazarli Rocks or Pate Town: require the whole day to visit.
Kiwaiyu Island
full day's motoring from Kijani House. There two lodges on the island, with accommodation and meals. The return trip could be made the following day, or the same day by air.
