From its pioneering days, over seventy years ago, Londolozi has blossomed into one of Africa's finest game lodges and became the first safari lodge to be awarded the prestigious Relais and Chateaux membership. It has also won a host of other awards, including British Airways' "Tourism for Tomorrow" which bears witness to their commitment to conservation.

Set in the world renowned Sabi Sands, Londolozi offers prolific viewing of Africa's most impressive wildlife on morning and evening game drives in open landrovers and on bush walks. The reserve is particularly famous for its leopard. Experienced rangers and Shangaan trackers guide guests through the beautiful landscape and show them the wildlife they have come to see. Adventurous days are followed by tranquil evenings spent in the comfort of one of three camps.

Main Camp is built on the site of the original hunting camp. Paying tribute to the remarkable history of Londolozi, the lounge and dining area has fascinating old family portraits, a colonial ambience and inspirational views of the Sand River. The eight chalets have private plunge pools and extended decks. Decorated in a romantic style, billowing mosquito nets, a huge tub with lovely views of the surrounding bush, intricate mosaic detailing and coir carpets combine with air conditioning to ensure maximum balm for both body and soul.

Tree Camp boasts an exclusive complement of six luxurious rooms. Private decks have plunge pools and outside showers. Also blessed with air conditioning, the rooms are beautifully stylish and the bathrooms designed for the ultimate in relaxation. The main living area has a serene and rustic air; it has a guest library, a wildlife television/video monitor and some stunning pieces of African art on display. The main dining area leads onto a large teak deck raised on stilts, whereas dinner is usually eaten in the Boma, an enclosed reeded area, under the stars.

Bush Camp has a further eight twin bedded suites, all air-conditioned. The en-suite bathrooms are complimented by an outdoor shower where you may gaze up at the wide African sky while washing off the dust of safari. Very similar in style to the other camps, Bush Camp is slightly different in that it welcomes children. Here the dining area overlooks the Sand River and ends with a walkway leading onto a secluded lookout point where guests can relax whilst game and bird viewing. The Boma adjoins the camp swimming pool.

Londolozi is beautifully appointed, charmingly styled and supremely comfortable. The staff are skilled, energetic and enthusiastic. The promise of an African adventure and the warmest welcome awaits. Nelson Mandela said "Londolozi represents a model of the dream I cherish for the future of nature preservation in our country" - share that dream.
