Chief's Camp is one of the Okavango Delta's newest lodges, offering the traveller a world-class destination in one of the world's last great wilderness areas. Located on the northwest tip of Chief's Island, this private concession forms part of the Mombo Tourism Zone in the Moremi Game Reserve. Mombo is synonymous with excellent game viewing which is, in part, due to thick vegetation and mineral rich soils, allowing the area to sustain abnormally high numbers of plains game and predators.
A combination of modern technology and traditional styles, Chief's Camp offers the guest luxurious comfort whilst creating minimum impact on the environment. The camp has been carefully crafted around the spectacular landscape, under canopies of jackal berry, sausage and rain trees - all of which guarantee abundant birdlife and primate activity. The main deck area overlooks the tip of the island and is surrounded by the floodwaters as they flow southwards.
Chief's Camp offers twelve, luxury rooms with private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms. The spacious rooms have been decorated in a contemporary ethnic African theme, assuring guests of style, privacy, comfort and seclusion.
Activities range from guided walking safaris, night drives, and game drives in open Land Cruisers. The skilled guides have years of bush experience and a talent for sharing this with guests. A research library is located in the main lounge, and a swimming pool is available to cool off from the African sun.
